Becoming a Christian

What does God want us all to do?

The answer is that He wants you to recognize that you are a sinner and this is what seperates you from a holy God.

"All of us have sinned and fallen short of God's glory."  Romans 3:23 CEV

Only God is perfect and just. A righteous justice will be done. A penalty must be paid for our sin, and that penalty is death and seperation.

"Adam sinned, and that sin brought death into the world. Now everyone has sinned, and so everyone must die." Romans 5:12 CEV

Jesus has paid the penalty for us:

"God loved the people of this world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who has faith in him will have eternal life and never really die. God did not send his Son into the world to condemn its people. He sent him to save them! No one who has faith in God's Son will be condemned. But everyone who doesn't have faith in him has already been condemned for not having faith in God's only Son." John 3: 16-18 CEV

We have a choice: We can pay the penalty for our sins ourselves. That penalty is eternal death and hell. Or we can accept the free gift God has given us through his grace. God gave His only Son who paid the penalty for our sins, satisfied God's justice by dying on the cross, so that we can have eternal life with God.

God is not willing that you should perish.  Admit that you are a sinner. he wants you to accept His love and forgiveness. Becoming a Christian means leaving the past behind and accepting a new life in Jesus.

We invite you to pray now:

Lord Jesus, I recognize that I am a sinner and fallen short of what you require. I need you in my life. I need to be saved from myself and what I deserve. Please forgive me. I have no other hope. I accept you as my Saviour and my Lord. Lead me and inspire me to be the person you want me to be and show me how to put my trust in you everyday. Through Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

If you have prayed this prayer let us know immediately and we will send you some literature to get you going.  If you have any question, send us an email. we'll do our best to answer them.

Also we hold a course at the Church which is called 'Christianity Explored.' Do look at the webpage for more information or contact the church office.
